This training is for people who completed a foundational EMDR training, but struggled to implement EMDR therapy effectively or regularly with their clients following the training. This refresher has a strong emphasis on working more effectively with clients with complex trauma. This training is not a substitute for a foundational training program. The emphasis is on helping you implement and supplement your foundational training to work more easily with your complex clients. The purpose of this training is to support therapist retention in this model.
Training Structure: This refresher course includes four days of training, each lasting four hours (including short breaks). You can select the days that you would like to attend. The cost to join each day is $40.00. Scholarships may be available for those with need to attend but cannot afford the already low price. Additional slots for each of the training days may be added (especially in 2026), depending on enrollment, but they are not guaranteed. Each day is offered multiple times. While it is recommended, it is not required that you take each day consecutively. The days are spread out so that you can potentially practice some of the core skills in-between. We also provide a lot of optional/supplementary resources for each day (most of them in are in the form of videos) that you can review to solidify your understanding of the content in each day.
Recordings Available to You After the Training: Days One through Three will be recorded and will be made available in the event that you cannot attend all or part of a day that you registered for.
Repeating Training Days for Free: You are welcome to repeat any day of the training that you have paid for, including the entire training as many times as you need for no additional cost (just message us). If you struggled to implement EMDR after your foundational training, we want to go out of our way to make sure that doesn’t happen with this training. We want you to succeed.
Scholarships are Available: If you need to attend this training, but you simply cannot afford the training at full price, you are welcome to contact us and ask for a scholarship. Simply describe the populations that you work with and describe (generally) your need for a scholarship and we will enroll you in the course. You will need to provide your full name and email address. Please make sure that you specify the specific day for each of the training days that you would like to attend (there are currently three days to choose from). Request a scholarship by contacting us. If you can afford to pay for the training, please do so.
No CEs: No CEs and no EMDRIA credits are offered for any of the days. We are able to offer this refresher at accessible prices and increased frequency because it does not include the overhead of CEs, certificates, or other credits. It also allows you to come and go as you like (or be on or off camera) without scrutiny. If you need CEs, certificates of completion, or EMDRIA credits, other excellent refreshers by other trainers offer that.
Experiential Days: Some of the days do not include practicum. The trainer cycles through the practicum groups. Practicum days allow you to be in an observer role for part or all of the practicum if that is what would most help you. Experiential practicums are not role-plays, and there are risks associated with them. Please engage in practicum exercises at your own risk.
The Prerequisite for This Training is that You Must Be Already Trained in EMDR Therapy Through an EMDRIA-Approved Training (Or Other Similar Trainings Per Your Country or Region). This is Not an EMDR Training.
